Stove

"He figured he may as well fix the stove. Since he knows how and all, yet he finds himself with a problem. He doesn't want to. Truly, a simple, easily fixable stove. Though any other chore seems much more appealing. Tools, set out for him and everything, all that's left to do is to fix the broken stove. A broken stove is a broken soul after all. He finds himself frowning a little, mainly from self disappointment, a little bit in annoyance. Looking up from his wonderful, soft chair he finds himself mounted on. Has he called his parents? Why yes, yes he has, yesterday even. This man needs to stop finding excuses."

"Okay Steve this is really becoming a problem."

Steve looks over, and takes a deep breath, "Maybe I'll do it when you stop commentating on my life."
Steve pauses for a moment, then continues. "How about I fix it tomorrow. Yeah, that sounds like a plan."

"Steve, you have said that everyday this week."

I look at Steve rather annoyed, and Steve notices this and only smirks.

"That's the point." Steve goes on to say as he closes his eyes.

This is simultaneously sad and funny, if that is possible.... Is it supposed to be?
Also, I love this sentence soooo much: "A broken stove is a broken soul after all."
