Golden leaves fell from trees. Hitting the ground without a sound, crackling and turning to dust under colorful and bland sneakers. It was close to almost everyone's favorite holiday actually, Halloween, but it would be different this year around. You tightened your scarf around your neck. Your blue jacket was zipped up all the way. Walking along the bright sidewalk, decorations were set up everywhere except where you stayed. You didn't want to take down everything so you didn't bother putting anything up for Halloween. Walking by a group of monsters, the whole time glares were sent your way but it didn't matter, some people, including you, didn't mind the monsters, but they hated humans for some reason. You made it to your blue door and got your keys, unlocking the door and walked in shutting it behind you. Throwing your shoes off and collapsed on your blue couch, a pale hand searched for the remote, your face still within the cushions.
Your hand grazed something cold. You lifted your head and looked at the controller in your hands and hit the on button and the TV flickered on. Scrolling through Netflix and clicked on the show you were recently watching. The red circle in the middle of the screen showed up and it showed the percentage, 63%, sitting up feet already propped on the wooden table in front of the blue couch. The show started and you watched the TV intently making sure to remember what happened the last show.
The pieces in your mind connected and you finally knew what was going on. Your eyes never left the TV screen as the blue coat slipped off your shoulders, your scarf still around your neck you didn't bother to take it off. It warmed you up a little. The show ended and you turned off the TV and checked the time, hazel eyes widened you slipped on the wood flooring. Hitting the ground hard, you quickly rebounded off the ground as you tried to get back up. You jumped up and grabbed your wallet, keys, and coat. You shoved your feet into your shoes before unlocking your door and walking out. Then, turning around, the door shut with a 'slam'. You shoved your keys in the lock and locked it. You turned around and sprinted down the stairs you slipped on the last stair but caught yourself before landing on the sidewalk. You sprinted down the sidewalk as fast as you could and looked at the blur of buildings. skidding to a stop and pulled the glass door open.
"Sorry I'm late I didn't know it was that late"
"Na last ok you were only five minutes late so it doesn't matter"
"You can pack up now, sorry to keep you waiting"
"Thanks"
Your coworker disappeared behind the wall, sighing you took off your coat. Stuffing the fabric and keys in a corner and shoved your wallet in your back pocket. You walked to the front counter, hearing the bell ring through out the small building. You looked over and saw a monster he was a skeleton, weird, you took a deep breath and put on the happiest smile you could muster.
"Hello sir, how can I help you today?"
He sat down at the bar before answering "What's good?"
"Well are you hungry or thirsty?" You asked in a kind voice
"Hungry, I guess"
"Then I would recommend the burger, they're really good"
He nodded and smirked "Guess ill' have that then"
"Cool!" You wrote down his order and walked to the back. You got out all of the ingredients and put a pan on the stove, you let it heat up before putting the meet onto the sizzling metal. You finished the burger and brought it out with fries and ketchup. You set the plate gently in front or the skeleton and walked towards the cash register you rung up the food and told him how much it was. He gave you a twenty and told you to keep the rest.
"Sir that would be $13 dollars your giving away"
"So?"
"So that's a lot of money to give away when your meal only cost 6.50$"
"So?, besides I know people like you don't get payed a lot when you work somewhere like here"
".......Oh....ok thank you..si"
"Sans"
"Sans?"
"My name"
"Oh, well thank you Sans"
You walked away, it was true you didn't get payed a lot but still made a living out of it, you could still support your self so it didn't matter. Your shift quickly passed and everyone left the cozy building. You grabbed your jacket and keys and walked towards the door. You shut off all the lights and locked the door. It was dark by now but you didn't mind. You actually liked the dark it. Was peaceful. You slipped your arms in the sleeves of your winter jacket and walked through the streets. You soon ended up at the start of the metal stairs leading to your apartment. Unlocking the door you strolled in and locked it behind you. You walked to your bed and didn't even bother taking a shower as drowsiness hit you. You threw the covers off and got on your bed throwing the covers back onto your body and you slowly fell asleep.

Very suspenseful!!
Ms. Brenda
The fact that this is written in the second person is what makes it so thrilling! I'm wondering what made you decide to write in the second person? My favorite line is definitely, "You didn't want to take down everything so you didn't bother putting anything up". It's such a great description of a character!!!
This was a very enjoyable read! I am puzzled at how well you use the words. Everything fit together in a picture in my mind.
Loved it
